Krisna Slays the Demon Putana

Despite the fact that Hindu illustrations are so beautifully painted they often feature really violent scenes which I find incredibly amusing. The description of this one was

Hindu villagers chop up and burn the giant body of an ogre just killed by baby Krisna, and so demonstrate symbolically how to transform the ugly raw emotions of primordial psyche into feelings that are beautiful and sweet.

Acroyoga fun

This amazing photo was taken by my friend Elena Markitani and even though it is hard to believe it is actually me in the photo with the super phenomenal Acroyoga teacher Anna Karides. Elena managed to make some godforsaken empty pieces of land in Cyprus look like California.
If you like what you see and you are going to be in Brighton in March or April check this out.

Born to Run

I've been reading Christopher McDoudall's incredible book Born To Run. The book is mainly about the Mexican tribe Tarahumara, the 'Running People' whose running races can last up to two days. According to a Mexican Historian a Tarahumara champion once ran 435 miles! It is just unbelievable that these people can run for such vast distances wearing just sandals.

So this book encouraged me to go for a long run (not quite as long as 435 miles) on Sunday and I took this not-so-good picture of the beautiful view.

Rudolf Nureyev

Yesterday was the 18th anniversary of Rudolf Nureyev's death. Such an inspiring man.

Ooops

Hope everybody had a nice Christmas break. I haven't been posting much (again) cause I went home for two weeks and kept doing anything else apart from drawing and looking at art. This is something I drew just before Christmas and used it as my Christmas card.
